About Us

The Village of Voorheesville was incorporated in 1899 and named after Alonzo Voorhees who built a house overlooking the railroad junction around 1867.

As of the 2010 census, the population of Voorheesville was 2789. Situated in the Town of New Scotland, the Village has always been a popular spot to watch the trains!

Welcome to Residents!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Residents of Voorheesville, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our fine Village. We are happy you’re here and hope you will be satisfied with the decision to call Voorheesville your home. I am proud to call Voorheesville my home, and I’m confident you will be, too.

If there is any way we can assist you, or if there is any information you may need about any Village services - community activities, recreation programs, trash pick-up, snow removal, meeting times, zoning laws, building codes, etc. - which hasn’t already been answered by this website or your welcome packet, please call the Village Office.

Please feel free to stop by Village Hall and become better acquainted with your new community. If it is not convenient for you to stop in, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 765-2692 and someone will be happy to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! - Robert D. Conway, Mayor
